The WebAnchor and Uniloc EdgeID Solution

Uniloc EdgeID Platform and its patented device-based identification of network computers is both a powerful fraud reduction solution and easy to implement.

An EdgeID is based on a process that takes advantage of the virtually unlimited possible combinations of low-level attributes and subtle configuration differences to create a physical device "fingerprint" on each user's computer, smartphone or Netbook. This EdgeID uniquely distinguishes any device from other devices.

In addition to uniqueness, Uniloc EdgeID's are tolerant to changes to the device. Rather than using cookies or other easily modified attributes to evade detection, the EdgeID Platform handles tolerance through data points used when developing the device fingerprint itself. If, for example, a PC component is changed, the device can still be matched to the EdgeID without error, so that a 100% match is not required between the original set of components analyzed and profiled for the EdgeID and the set of components actually resident on the device when device authentication is being requested for access.

Obfuscation and hashing work together to provide integrity to the physical device fingerprint created through the EdgeID Platform. Any attempts to create a counterfeit EdgeID, to intercept and record the process of EdgeID creation, or to replay it on other machines will result in the invalidation of the EdgeID. Uniloc ensures that any such activity flags the EdgeID as having lost integrity and permanently invalidates it.
