Uniloc's innovative, patented device recognition technology creates a fingerprint, or edge ID, unique to each online service based on the naturally occurring, inherent physical characteristics of a computing device, including PC's, laptops, smartphones, netbooks and game consoles. The Uniloc EdgeID Platform utilizes this edge ID information as a physical identifier to improve authentication and authorized access for private networks, Internet and cloud-based services and software including SaaS offerings.
By including Uniloc's physical EdgeID as part of an online identification, it becomes possible to safeguard good users and block problem users. The EdgeID platform allows an authorized user to register devices so in order to impersonate an actual user, a fraudster must be in possession of a previously registered device. Uniloc's EdgeID platform also allows an online service to deny, or blacklist, devices known to repeatedly conduct fraudulent activity. While it is easy for a problem user to requests thousands of online identities, doing so from machines not blacklisted becomes daunting.
